SCROLL DOWN

The Oyyo N°1 Dhurrie Collection

Rajasthan, India

In the campaign for The Oyyo N°1 Dhurrie Collection, we wanted to capture the meeting between the contemporary design of the dhurrie carpets and the nature in Rajasthan where the six dhurries were handwoven by a community of craftspeople in the rural areas outside of Jodhpur. The dhurries are made from organic cotton colored with vivid vegetable dyes derived from local plants, woven with techniques dating back centuries, devoid of machines, but with a contemporary design and colour pallet.

Bo i Nyköping

Nyköping, Sweden

Every summer the municipality of Nyköping commissions a photographer to create a story together with local residents about life in the area. The 2018 campaign visualizes adolescence in a place in direct connection to the sea. The images, with teenagers from Nyköping and their relationship to the surrounding archipelago, speak of transition and the possibility of change – especially when they are exhibited in the capital city’s public transport system.

The campaign is displayed in the Stockholm subway during autumn and spring 2018–2019 and on billboards by the highway to Nyköping for the entire year. Art direction by Anna Romson, styling by Johanna Sterling, production by Brandcentric. More about the campaign at nykoping.se.

One summer Daniel Berlin asked me to travel to south Sweden and try to capture the essence of his food. He didn’t want anything fancy. The darker the pictures got the more he seemed to appreciate them. He frequently asked if we couldn’t find a way to get more blood into the frame. To me this was a very different client. As a photographer you're sometimes constrained by editor’s ideas of reality, but Daniel simply asked me to show what I saw, as strong as I possibly could. He eventually served everything edible in the pictures to his guests.

The pictures were photographed in the area surrounding the restaurant Daniel Berlin Krog i Skåne-Tranås between 2012–2014.

The Via Snella S/S Campaign

Sundtorp, Sweden

Remember the old days when we used to cross the small countryside path barefoot under the gloomy moon. It was summer, we were young and wanted to hang out in the city. Remember that eternal nonchalant summer when apartment studio parties were replaced by climbing ceremonies and swims across the lake. I was sporty, yet elegant and naïve. You were playing the neon-tiled dance floor on the meadow. We had brought suitcases with chic démodé garments from the city and donned them in the woods. We hated poppy nylon sweaters and boring surf-uniforms. Ours were looks, real looks. Sweat, waves, sand and heat were not a problem. Fashion was not a problem.

For spring-summer Via Snella proposes an alternative choice to the modern über-vulgar men’s sportswear. With a penchant for tiny details that calibrate functionality, minimalist dandyism and a diachronic marine cotton-wear touch, Via Snella recovers the sophisticated relaxedness sports clothes used to have back in the twenties and the thirties. Warm-proof sweatshirts with reinforcements, materials resilient to heat and water, hidden textures celebrating nature and its winds, waves and raindrops, all clad in layers of an immaculate sustainable fashion. Summer is here!

The Elsa and Me Campaign

Stockholm, Sweden

Inspired by an elegant and stylish grandma named Elsa, Elsa And Me was founded in 2009 to fill the gap of feminine business wear for women. Swedish born Brooklyn-based designer Maja Svensson left her corporate job to become the passionate business woman she always dreamt of. Her aim with Elsa And Me is to empower women to feel feminine and powerful in their everyday life. The signature Elsa dress is comfortable for work and elegant during cocktail hours. The dress is made of organic cotton fabric, produced locally in New York City and designed not to be dependent on a short term trend.
